Remixing Your Life with Bipolar in the Mix
The focus this week is on making changes in your life.
Hi there!
Do you ever feel like something's got to change? You're not sure what it is, but you need something to add a little spark to your life?
That's how I've been feeling recently. And honestly, I have no clue what needs to change.
Last week, scrolling through all the sales on the Amazon app, I found a duvet set (ad) on sale for $27, and I thought, why not? I've never had a duvet set before, but it was a cheap way to add some color to my world. The slight alteration created a shift in the monotony, and that's exactly what I needed.
When your life needs a shake up
Routine is wonderful for bipolar disorder. It's one of the biggest keys to stability, but it's not always great for a creative mind. Sometimes you get a nagging feeling that everything is just blah, and all the voices in your head are all whispering the same thing: it's time for a change.
Sometimes it takes a big change, like when I left home at 20 and moved 900 miles away from my family. Other times it's a tiny change, something as simple as changing your bedspread or the route you drive to work.

Tackle bipolar doubt
Now, I know what those of you with bipolar disorder are thinking. Is this really a change or is this a start of a new manic cycle?
The scary reality is that we live with this question every day. Are we just feeling an emotion, or are things beginning to spin out of control?
If you've been stable for a while, like I have, then chances are good that it’s just a feeling. Your creative mind is yelling out, “I need some variety!” But what do you change?
Change is our theme for this week. We’ll cover how to decide what to change, how to get started, and how to remain stable during the process.
(Paid subscribers) Tomorrow, we'll talk about the most important foundation you need to have in place before you start any change.
Monday’s Journal Prompt: Let's do things a little differently today. Instead of writing, I want you to doodle in a notebook. Draw pictures of things that make you happy. Yes, stick figures are okay. Spend at least 15 minutes drawing. Then, if you want, explore how you feel in your journal or with more pictures.
Until next time, keep fighting.

It's easy to get caught up in a routine, but changing things up once in a while gives us a fresh perspective. Glad your duvet did that for you...I don't think I've ever owned a duvet either and now I've gotta browse online.
