After my time in a psychiatric hospital, I committed to attending group therapy for three months. The group sessions were an hour’s drive from where I lived, but that didn’t bother me as much as the sessions themselves.
The counselor overseeing our sessions had no interest in being there. Often, she was so lost in her own thoughts or what she was doodling on her clipboard that she was oblivious to the conversation we were having.
