Tuesday’s Journal Prompt: Reflect on a time when you successfully managed anxiety. What strategies did you use, and what did you learn about yourself in the process?
Hi there!
I used to think mindset was nothing. It was nothing but a bunch of crunchy granola hoopla that people who loved lavender and crystals sang about. I was sure they were wrong.
But then something happened that forced me to change my mind.
I've been a professional masker for a very long time. I can be in so much pain that I can barely keep the tears from my eyes, but if you ask me how I'm doing, I'll tell you I'm fine. Or, at least, that was my answer for the longest time. No matter what, I always told everyone I was fine.
The problem came when my mom went around behind me telling my friends that “fine” meant anything but fine.
“It's a lie,” she told everyone. “He's doing terrible. I don't know why he doesn't just tell you.”
Thanks, Ma!
