Hi there!

Thrashing in the cool water, every time I tried to get my head above the waterline, the wooden dock blocked my access. I knew I was going to die in that lake at just seven years old.

Moments earlier, I was laying across an inner tube, my eyes closed, listening to nearby birds and the lap of water against the shore. I must have fallen asleep, because in an instant, I slipped through the center of the inner tube and opened my eyes to a watery prison.
