Hi there!
Wednesday’s Journal Prompt: Describe a recent situation where things didn't go as planned. How did you handle it, and what did you learn from the experience? How can accepting your imperfections help you grow?
A few months ago, my mom and I decided to paint the railings and balusters on our deck. In my mind, it was a two-day project we could easily do.
Then reality hit me like a truck.
The two-day project turned into three weekends, and truth be told, it’s still not finished. I forgot to account for my life with chronic illness or the limitations of an aging body.
To make matters worse, one of the weekends, I forced myself to keep painting even after I was exhausted. The price? Four days spent in bed.
Lesson learned.
Life often doesn’t go as planned, whether that’s because of an illness or just a series of unfortunate coincidences. Sometimes the cake doesn’t rise or the car won’t start. That’s life.
My crash taught me to slow down and never work past exhaustion. Will I still mess up? Of course, but at least I’m a little smarter going in.
Your task for today is to explore how you can accept the bad days.
Thursday’s Journal Prompt: Write about how you can acknowledge failures without letting them define you. What are some positive affirmations or reminders that can help you keep perspective and move forward with confidence?
Until next time, keep fighting.
