Just Like Pooh, You Are Braver, Stronger, and Smarter Than You Believe
What my therapist said to help me believe in myself.
Hi there!
I’ll never forget the day my therapist said something that completely changed my outlook on life.
I had been struggling for months—maybe even years—to see the good in myself. My internal voices condemned everything I did, making me my own worst critic. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to find anything to celebrate about myself.
Then my therapist told me all the voices inside were wrong. She said I was strong, and the proof was in the traumatic events I survived in my childhood.
I told her she was crazy. With a tone full of disdain, I explained how she didn’t understand, but her words stuck with me.
"There is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
