Hi there!

“Close your eyes,” Lizzy said, closing her own. Four seagulls dancing in the air nearby held my attention. A short, white-haired woman with a neon pink visor was tossing bits of bread for the birds to catch.

“I’m sorry,” I said, realizing Lizzy had said something to me.

“Close your eyes,” she repeated. “You need to experience the beach with your other senses.”

Like a good boy, I closed my eyes and marveled as the world transformed within me. The bright sun shone through my eyelids, making me see a bright red light. The nearby seagulls chirped as they continued their feeding. The warm ocean waves gently lapped against my feet, burying them ever so slightly in the white sand.

“You have to slow down,” Lizzy told me with a happy sigh. “Breathe in every moment or you’ll miss it.”

“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”

- Oprah Winfrey
