Hi there!
Monday’s Journal Prompt: Explore a negative feeling you have been keeping a secret. Is it true? Is it reasonable? What would you tell a friend who felt the same way? Offer yourself the same kindness.
Besides fighting imposter syndrome, I often feel like no one likes me. It doesn’t matter if it’s my family, lifelong friends, or a person I just met in the grocery store.
No matter how many times a friend tells me they care for me, part of my brain refuses to believe it.
Negative messaging is part of having a mental illness, but it’s also become common in all of society. You see all the wonderful highlight reels of friends on social media, and your mind tells you they are better than you.
That’s not true. Don’t believe the lie. You are not less than anyone, regardless of what monsters live in your head.
For today, focus on the negative feeling you journaled about yesterday. How can you prove to yourself it isn’t true? What steps will help you move past it.
Tuesday’s Journal Prompt: Imagine your life without the negative thought you’re hiding. Write an entry about how your life would be different with that gone.
Until next time, keep fighting.
