Choosing To Be Positive: The Ripple Effect and You
Some days are harder than a simple choice, but many days, choosing the good will make things easier to handle.
Hi there!
You wake up on a gray rainy morning. The grumble of thunder calls from a distance, with large raindrops plinking against the window near your bed. You have to get up and go to work, but you don't feel like getting out of bed. You pull the covers over your head and try to will yourself back to sleep.
You know that if you don't get up, you'll be late for work. You also know that if you're late for work, your boss will be angry. No one can afford to lose a job, especially not you, so you force yourself to get out of bed.
As you start your day, you're already feeling negative. You're feeling sorry for yourself and dreading the day ahead. Your frown greets you in the bathroom mirror, a foreshadow of the day ahead.
But then you remember something: You can choose to be positive.
“It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.”
- David Thoreau

Make a Choice
You can choose to remember how the rain waters the grass and flowers you pass on your way to work. You can choose to be grateful for your job, even if it's not your dream job. For now, it pays the bills. You can choose to see the good in it.
When you make the choice to be positive, it's like throwing a stone into a pond. The ripples of positivity spread out from you and touch everyone around you. Your positive attitude may touch your boss, so he treats the entire staff better.
